Early Life and Career
Preye Odede hails from Bayelsa State, Nigeria. He was born on June 16, 1990.
He is the 3rd child out of 7 siblings with six boys and one girl. His Dad abandoned him at an early age so he was left homeless with his mom and siblings for about 9 to 11 years.
The hardship for them was on the high increase, they were not able to pay their house rent, they were kicked out of their house because of that, they had to beg a lady for help who offered them her kiosk (small shop built with sticks) for them to have a place to sleep. They had to do all kinds of irritating jobs to make ends meet. His mom had to do all her best to train him in school.
He had encountered a whole lot of challenges in life, but that didn’t prevent him from excelling.
He studied Microbiology at Abia State University and graduated with a degree.
Music to him has been a part of his life. He has always been a singer right from his childhood days; sang in his church children’s choir, graduated to the main church choir, and then in the University, he was part of the finest choir then.
Along the line, Preye formed a group known as the Born2Praiz (A five-man acapella group); he was a backup singer for some major gospel ministries in Portharcourt where has been his home-based for some time now.
Apart from Music Ministry, he also works in a company as a designer.
He announced his presence in the industry in 2011 with his hit single “BIKO” and later released his maiden album “MY SCRIPT” in 2012 which had award-winning song Ebezina (Don’t Cry) which gained massive airplay in PortHarcourt.
The song (Ebezina) was officially launched in 2012 and the Video was shut in November 2013 and was released in March 2014.
Preye Odede disclosed in an interview that his messages and songs are being inspired by the Holy Spirit.
Preye Odede keeps his private life secret from the public eyes. The gospel singer is said to be married.
